Review the sections on The Marketing Mix (product, price, promotion and distribution) and the Marketing Environment (competitive, economic, social & cultural, political & regulatory, technological).   The Mix are tools that a company can control, and the Environment are external factors that impact the company.  Identify a factor in the marketing environment that impacted decisions Mattel made regarding the marketing mix for Barbie or any other Mattel product.  You need to explain what happened in the marketing environment then show how Mattel responded by changing the marketing mix of Barbie or the other product (the specific area of the mix) or by doing something else in the company (perhaps they introduced a new product).
