Specific to negative ads, what strategies are most effective in their design and deployment?
Iyengar discusses “going public” at length in the chapters assigned for this section of the course. What is “going public”? How long has it been in use, and why is it used? What factors influence how much political actors go public, which ones are most likely to do so, and what impacts have gone public had on governing and American democracy generally?
