As we know, parenting styles can be a real point of contention both within and between cultures. Let’s research and expand our cross-cultural understanding.
Identify a culture that utilizes parenting styles/practices that you find somewhat questionable.
Retrieve a scholarly article that explores/discusses the parenting style/practice for that particular culture in a cultural context (meaning it explains the why behind the practice). Essentially, you are trying to understand why the culture employs that type of parenting style/practice.
Discuss the highlights of this article as they might pertain to this discussion, highlighting cultural values that support those particular parenting practices (no quotes).

Finally, discuss how does your own culture influences your judgment of another culture’s parenting styles/practices? Consider previous readings in Heine.
