What are some of the practical implications of living according to the Four Noble Truths?

Philosophy

What are some of the practical implications of living according to the Four Noble Truths? What do you think your life would be like if you based all your actions on these Truths? Would you find it preferable? Why or why not? (250 words)

What do you think about Locke’s argument that we come into the world as tabula rasa (blank slate) and therefore no innate truths are possible (refuting Descartes and incidentally the Catholic Christian concept of original sin)? Everything we know and everything we become as people and personalities is based on our experience. Another way to think about this is the nature vs. nurture argument. Are we fixed at birth, or do our experiences shape who we are and what we know? What do you all think about this argument? You can use Kant and more modern thinkers such as Piaget and Chomsky to consider this as well as the Ted Talks video posted in the chapter folder
